7 Brew at 100 College Ave, Athens, GA: Starbucks Renovation Goes to Plans Review November 5, 2026
An Athens-Clarke County plans review agenda for November 5, 2026 lists a “Renovation of existing Starbucks into a 7 Brew Coffee Shop” at 100 College Ave. That is a plans review, not an opening announcement. No opening date has been published, and we will not guess one. Here is exactly what the agenda says, what is still unknown, and how this relates to Athens’ first 7 Brew on Atlanta Highway.
Quick Facts: 100 College Ave
From the Athens-Clarke County Unified Government plans review agenda dated November 5, 2026.
Quick answer: Yes, a 7 Brew is in the works at 100 College Ave in Athens, Georgia, according to a county agenda. It would replace an existing Starbucks. The project is Project 5 on the November 5, 2026 agenda, scheduled for 11:00 AM, with review comments due November 3, 2026. The agenda does not give a construction start, an opening date, hours or a store format.

About 100 College Ave
- Location: A January 2024 report described the Starbucks at 100 College Ave as being in downtown Athens, across from the University of Georgia Arch. That article said the store was temporarily closed for interior renovations, with a tentative reopening on Wednesday, January 10.
- Current status conflict: The agenda calls it an “existing Starbucks.” Online listings disagree. A MapQuest page showed the store as open from 6 am to 8 pm, while other listing titles we found say “CLOSED.” We could not confirm whether the store is operating today, so we make no claim either way.
- Why it matters: A downtown, campus-adjacent site would be a different setting from the first Athens stand on Atlanta Highway.
Athens’ First 7 Brew: 3455 Atlanta Highway
7 Brew already opened one Athens stand. Flagpole reported on August 3, 2026 that it opened at 3455 Atlanta Highway, after a soft opening the previous weekend that was reported to cause a traffic jam on Timothy Road. The Red & Black photographed a ribbon-cutting there on August 6, 2026, which featured drinks and a donation to Extra Special People. See our full guide: 7 Brew Athens, GA grand opening.
If 100 College Ave goes ahead, Athens would have two 7 Brew locations. Neither the agenda nor any report we found says 7 Brew has confirmed the second one.
What to Expect When It Opens
Nothing is scheduled for College Ave. For reference only, the Atlanta Highway opening ran as a series of events: Caffeine for a Cause, Friends & Family free drinks, Opening Day, Community Hours and Swag Day. We will not assume the same plan applies here until 7 Brew publishes a flyer. The standard menu of coffee, energy drinks, sodas, teas, lemonades, smoothies and shakes is covered in our menu guides.
What to Watch Next

- This page: We will update it when an opening date, hiring or flyer appears.
