$10,064 for the Petal Children’s Task Force
Every dollar from the September 25-27 pay-what-you-want weekend went to the Petal Children’s Task Force, and the total came to $10,064. 7 Brew presented the check at the Petal Area Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting on September 28, as reported by WHLT.
The Task Force is a Petal food-assistance nonprofit and a registered 501(c)(3). It began in 1989, when founders bought food and gifts to help a local family over the holidays. Executive director Demaris Lee told WHLT it now serves more than 750 families and over 1,800 people a month, and that the 7 Brew donation will go toward buying food for its boxes. Its mission, in her words, is making sure no one in the community goes hungry.
