Where It’s Going

The stand is planned for 2219 Shorter Avenue, on a commercial stretch near the Rome Sam’s Club. Per The City Menus’ reading of the plans, the parcel sits in a B-2 General Commercial District, the kind of zoning that allows retail and drive-thru businesses. That’s a common pattern for 7 Brew: a small pad site on a busy retail corridor, close to an anchor store.

About the Building

The plans call for a prefabricated, drive-thru-only building of roughly 750 square feet. About 510 square feet is main building space, with an additional 240-square-foot cooler area. Like every 7 Brew, there’s no indoor seating and no walk-up window, so customers order from their cars.

Rome’s Coffee Scene and Local Demand

Rome already has at least one drive-thru coffee competitor: Scooter’s Coffee lists a Rome stand at 7 Shorter Avenue, per its Yelp page. On 7 Brew’s side, the nearest stands listed in the company’s official Georgia directory are in Calhoun and Dalton, both in northwest Georgia. A customer review on the Calhoun stand’s official page says they’d love to have a 7 Brew in Rome, a small sign that people in the area have been asking. A Facebook post circulating locally says the news came secondhand (“I was just told”), so we treated it as community buzz rather than a source.
