Caffeine for a Cause is underway through Sunday, October 4, with pay-what-you-want drinks from 10 AM to 4 PM on Saturday and Sunday. Local residents told WMAR2 News this summer they hope the stand helps draw traffic back to a shopping center that has watched tenants come and go. “Somewhere to stop. Something that people enjoy. Coffee,” said Willie Evans Jr. of Edgewood. “And it helps Edgewood not to become a ghost town,” added his wife, Mildred.
Irv Cole, who has run Gentlemens Edge barbershop in the same shopping center since 1999, remembered when it had a Fashion Bug and movie theaters, and said he’s hoping 7 Brew comes through for the area.
