In early August, Motley 7 Brew president Rick Nader told both What Now Columbus and NBC4 that the Powell stand was tentatively set to open September 21. Earlier in the year, Motley’s development list had targeted a July 30 construction start for the site. The official date is now October 12, about three weeks later than first planned. No reason has been given, though short slips like this are common as stands finish permits and inspections.
Who’s Running the Powell Stand
Rick Nader confirmed to What Now Columbus that his company, Motley 7 Brew, is the franchise owner behind the Powell location. Motley started in January 2023 to bring 7 Brew to Ohio and has since expanded to Texas and Georgia with partners Tom Cook and Orangewood Investments. Its central Ohio projects this year include Lewis Center, the Sawmill Road stand in Columbus, and the Mount Vernon stand now under construction, and outside the region, Holland near Toledo.
